About The Position

Lifetime Activities is looking for an energetic and friendly part-time racquet-sports Professional at our community-based tennis center in Walnut Creek, California. The Professional's primary responsibility is to teach lessons to patrons of all ages and abilities and help set the standard for high quality coaching, fun and player development. They will work with the site's Managing Director to ensure that positive coaching, safety, fun and player development are at the center of every lesson.

Requirements

  • RSPA / PTR Certified Professional (Level 2) & minimum 4 years experience
  • A strong track record of teaching excellence (Municipal program experience is a plus)
  • Demonstrated ability to retain and attract students of all ages/abilities in group lesson settings
  • A great on-court presence with an understanding of modern fundamentals and development progressions
  • A team player with a friendly attitude and personality are a must
  • Punctual, professional and positive with a strong work ethic
  • The ability to connect to a diverse range of ages and levels
  • A positive presence with a focus on safety, and customer service
  • The interest and desire to help grass-roots players learn the game
  • 4.0+ NTRP
  • 3.5+ DUPR
  • Required by law to submit to a consumer investigative report.
  • Subject to a TB screening, following a conditional offer of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Municipal program experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Teach/lead Park & Rec. lessons, clinics and camps, for both Tennis and Pickleball, as required by Managing Director in accordance with positive coaching standards
  • Provides beginning through advanced instruction for all ages and level players
  • Lead classes and provide direction to assistant instructors
  • Assist in the mentoring of new staff
  • Able to run assigned programs independently
  • Help create a welcoming atmosphere for all players and have a positive student focused attitude
  • Help with court maintenance as needed
  • Follow current health and safety guidelines
  • Additional duties assigned by Managing Director such as court drying, class preparation, including assigned administrative duties such as staffing + scheduling, drafting lesson plans, team and client communication…etc.
