About The Position

A Professional Yard Driver is responsible for safely moving and backing semi trailers at a major distribution center. Applicants must have experience driving and backing a 53' semi trailers. The ideal candidate will have previous Yard Driving experience and be able to back into tight spots. A strong candidate should also be good with time management, have an eye for detail, have the ability to remain calm under pressure, be physically fit and have a safety mindset.

Requirements

• Experience driving and backing a 53' semi trailers.
• Must be at least 18.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Safely moving and backing semi trailers at a major distribution center.
• Safely maneuvering 53' semi trailers: Backing and pulling trailers to/from dock doors and parking them onsite.
• Safely enter/exit switcher truck multiple times an hour.
• Place and remove wheel chocks and Salvo locks.
• Lift and open doors.
• Follow safety procedures.
