The Freeman College of Management at Bucknell University invites applicants for a Professional Track faculty position in Real Estate, with qualifications to teach undergraduate accounting courses beginning in Fall 2027. This individual will also serve as Program Director for the Undergraduate Real Estate Program. The initial appointment is for three years, with the possibility of reappointment in subsequent years, contingent upon satisfactory performance. The starting rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Professional Track faculty members have a teaching load of up to six courses per year, with release time available for administrative responsibilities. Additionally, candidates will be expected to advise students and maintain faculty qualifications consistent with the AACSB accreditation standards. Key responsibilities of the Program Director are as follows: Curriculum: The Director will develop a differentiated specialty focus for the real estate minor and collaborate with faculty colleagues to develop and evolve an innovative curriculum that reflects changes in the real estate industry, strengthens experiential learning, and prepares students for professional opportunities. Industry Engagement: Develop relationships with employers and real estate professional organizations to facilitate internship and career opportunities. Advisory Board & Fundraising: Lead and maintain an active Advisory Board. In concert with University Advancement, engage in fundraising initiatives to support the Program’s mission. Student Programming: Organize guest lectures, industry events, site visits, and case competitions. Establish and manage student clubs, such as the Real Estate Club. Although this position will not be eligible for tenure, Bucknell values professional track colleagues as full members of the faculty and provides extensive resources to support their growth. This includes access to a robust Teaching & Learning Center and funding for professional development and scholarly engagement. Professional track faculty members are eligible to vote in University and College faculty meetings and serve on faculty committees. Professional Track faculty members are reviewed every three years, with the initial review occurring prior to the third year of the appointment. Excellent teaching is the primary criterion for renewal and promotion. This track includes three successive ranks. Faculty members become eligible for promotion to the next rank after six years of service at their current rank. Prior equivalent service may be applied toward promotion.
