About The Position

The Professional Student Assistant works in the J.T. Vaughan Large Animal Teaching Hospital, assisting with patient care for equine and other patients presenting through the hospital. The position is a weekend shift on Saturdays and Sundays, with a scheduled shift of either 7:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) student at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine (AUCVM).
• Must be in good academic standing.
• Willingness to learn and follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care.
• Administer medications.
• Maintain hospital cleanliness.
• Restock supplies.
