About The Position

Join the Weekend Program on 12S at UPMC Presbyterian! This is an acuity adaptable unit with 30 beds, providing diverse patient care including Post-Surgical, Endocrinology, Pulmonary, and Infectious Diseases. The unit is teaching-focused, making it ideal for new graduates and those looking to expand their inpatient experience. The role involves delivering compassionate, patient-centered care, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, engaging in continuous learning, and contributing to innovation and patient safety. The individual must demonstrate knowledge and skills for providing care to patients of all ages, understanding growth and development, and assessing patient status. They should be able to establish positive relationships, work productively in a complex environment, handle multiple priorities, and possess good clinical judgment with critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Critical thinking skills are necessary to exercise and lead others in the application of the nursing process. Physical requirements include mobility, visual manual dexterity, and physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients.

Requirements

  • Current Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse
  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
  • ACLS required within 12 months of beginning employment
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • Mobility and visual manual dexterity
  • Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting and positioning of patients
