Professional Staff Nurse

UPMC•New Castle, PA

About The Position

UPMC Jameson is hiring a full-time Professional Staff Nurse to support the 3200 General Surgery Team. Registered Nurses at UPMC partner in providing patients with the right care in the right way and at the right time, supporting a positive patient experience with integrity. Graduate Nurses eligible for State Board Licensure and experienced Professional Staff Nurses will be considered. UPMC offers a residency program for new nurses and a defined Nursing Career Ladder; the final job title and salary within that ladder depend on the candidate’s education, experience, and manager discretion. The salary may vary based on the selected candidate’s years of experience and education. The nurse applies the nursing process within Relationship Based Care to develop patient-centered care plans, communicate patient needs and condition to the care team, document care, and support safe, high-quality outcomes. The role includes patient and family education, collaboration with colleagues, participation in shared governance and quality-improvement work, and ongoing professional development. The nurse must provide age-appropriate care for patients served by the assigned unit and apply knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan. UPMC offers flexible scheduling options, including traditional rotating/flexible shifts and programs focused primarily on night or weekend shifts with a premium pay differential. Employees entering those programs must have at least six months of nursing experience and may need to complete orientation during regular business hours.
