About The Position

The Professional Services Veterinarian role at Zoetis is focused on leading the adoption of higher standards of care, compassion, and health within the veterinary profession. This involves educating and influencing veterinarians and hospital healthcare teams through presentations and discussions on small animal diseases, Zoetis products and services, medical advancements, and practice management. The role also serves as the "voice of the veterinarian" to advise internal sales and marketing teams, acting as a coach, trainer, and leader. The veterinarian will partner with the Area Business Manager to achieve business objectives, provide medical support to strategic partners (independent, corporate, and specialty hospitals), and become a valued advisor to customers, sales teams, peers, and colleagues. This position requires being a credible and ethical advocate for the Veterinary Industry, the Zoetis Petcare Business, and the Zoetis Brand, while maintaining a commitment to personal and professional growth. Professional services veterinarians are described as inspirational leaders, committed to lifelong learning, promoting best medicine, strengthening the veterinary profession, and collaborating with others. Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or equivalent degree
  • Current and active veterinary license, in good standing
  • A valid US driver’s license
  • 5+ years of experience as a veterinarian in companion animal general clinical practice
  • Curiosity, positivity, and a growth mindset
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel for work (40-60% travel, varying by geography)
  • Must live in or be willing to relocate to the area near Connecticut/Rhode Island/Southern Massachusetts
  • Ability to travel to support Area sales team includes the following states: (Connecticut/Rhode Island/Southern Massachusetts)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the widespread adoption of higher standards of care, compassion, and health within the veterinary profession.
  • Educate and influence veterinarians and hospital healthcare teams by giving presentations and facilitating roundtable discussions on small animal diseases, Zoetis products/services, medical advancements, and practice management topics.
  • Serve as the "voice of the veterinarian" when advising on strategies and educating internal teams (sales and marketing).
  • Act as a coach, trainer, and leader, adapting communication style to the needs of the Area sales team, colleagues, and peers.
  • Partner with the Area Business Manager to develop and achieve the Area’s business strategy and objectives.
  • Provide medical support to strategic partners, including independent, corporate, and specialty hospitals.
  • Become a valued advisor to veterinary customers, the Area sales team, peers, and colleagues.
  • Act as a credible and ethical advocate for the Veterinary Industry, the Zoetis Petcare Business, and the Zoetis Brand.
  • Maintain a commitment to personal and professional growth to enhance relevance, impact, and engagement.
