About The Position

This course focuses on understanding the unique mental and physical demands placed on pilots in their safety-sensitive roles. It covers general health with an emphasis on altitude physiology, vision, hearing, medications, and fitness. The psychological component addresses aeronautical decision-making, risk management, sleep, and fatigue. Both aspects are integrated into discussions on the FAA medical certification process and pilot duties and responsibilities regarding compliance. The course is taught on-ground at the Williston Campus on Mondays from 2:00 PM to 4:50 PM.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience should include Flight Instruction or Ground School Instruction of FAA License or Certification courses.
  • Ability to teach on-ground at the Williston Campus on Mondays from 2:00 PM to 4:50 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct students on aeronautical physiology and psychology.
  • Explain the physiological demands on pilots, including altitude physiology, vision, hearing, medications, and fitness.
  • Cover the psychological aspects relevant to pilots, such as aeronautical decision-making, risk management, sleep, and fatigue.
  • Integrate physiological and psychological topics with the FAA medical certification process and pilot compliance responsibilities.
  • Teach the course as an on-ground lecture at the Williston Campus.
