About The Position

Tectonic is seeking a licensed Professional Land Surveyor to join our growing Land Surveying Team for a project based in Meriden, CT. This position offers the flexibility of full-time or part-time employment and the opportunity to contribute to a significant project while working alongside a collaborative and experienced survey team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of surveying experience with a strong working knowledge of surveying equipment.
  • Must possess a HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Professional Land Surveyor License required.
  • Detail oriented, with the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to review/understand written civil construction and architectural plans and specifications.
  • Availability to work overtime as needed, with the ability to travel for overnight assignments.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain OSHA 10 Hour Construction Safety Certification and applicable scaffolding training certifications.
  • Valid, clean driver’s license is required.

Nice To Haves

  • AAS in Surveying a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operating survey instruments such as total stations, data collectors, GPS, and other standard survey equipment.
  • Collecting information required to carry out new surveys using source maps, previous survey data, photographs, computer records, and other relevant information.
  • Compilation of information necessary to stake projects for construction using engineering plans.
  • Conduct surveys to determine the locations of natural features and man-made structures on the Earth's surface, underground, and underwater using electronic distance measuring equipment and other surveying instruments.
  • Direction and supervision of day to day work of subordinate members of surveying parties.
  • Laying out grids, determining horizontal and vertical controls.
  • Maintaining survey equipment and vehicles.
  • All other duties as assigned.
