About The Position

Atlas Surveying, Inc. is seeking a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) for its Charleston, SC office. This industry-leading firm utilizes conventional tools, robots, and drones for surveys, certifications, and real-time GPS and aerial mapping, serving clients in real estate development, construction, architecture, and engineering. The PLS will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and supervision of survey staff and field crews. This role also involves strategic planning, contract negotiation, marketing, development, and implementation of survey service contracts. Duties include performing topographic, boundary, and ALTA surveys, As-Builts, platting, construction layouts, and preparing Metes and Bounds Descriptions. The position requires proficiency in office practices, standards, and various software programs. Requirements

A CURRENT PLS LICENSE IN SOUTH CAROLINA IS REQUIRED.
Five years of land survey post-licensure experience required.
Knowledge in use of GPS and electronic data collectors and monitors.
Proficient in OSHA/Safety regulations.
Up-to-Date knowledge of public agency codes, processes and standards.
Must maintain continuing education requirement for licensure.

Nice To Haves

Additional State Licensing, including NC, GA and FL are a plus.

Responsibilities

Preparation of boundary surveys.
Establish objectives/goals, costs and maximum use of assets relating to projects.
Responds to inquiries from clients, local and municipal authorities.
Assemble field data, perform survey calculations, and prepare legal descriptions.
Provide quality control and quality assurance on all project work.
Prepare and monitor project budgets and billing of clients.
Approve and seal professional surveying documents and survey certifications.
Able to communicate effectively, both orally and written.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
