About The Position

Verdantas is seeking an experienced Professional Land Surveyor to support its growing survey team in New England and potentially other regions. This role involves leading both office-based and field survey operations, including planning and managing various survey types, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The position requires technical expertise, strategic oversight, and hands-on use of advanced instruments for accurate data collection. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of surveying methods, a tech-forward mindset, and a commitment to delivering high-quality services and mentoring emerging talent.

Requirements

Associate's Degree; higher education preferred
7 + years of professional experience in the practice of land surveying in northern New England or a similar setting
Professional Surveying License or ability to obtain it within 6 months
Ability to manage projects and handle client relations
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Ability to complete field work, including carrying equipment, cutting traverse lines, and walking on undeveloped sites
Ability to occasionally work outdoors in various weather conditions
Strong technical skills

Nice To Haves

Experience with AutoCAD design software, including Civil3D

Responsibilities

Performing conventional and GPS computations and analysis
Land records research
Field crew supervision
Ability to take field measurements and stakeout of survey projects
Make boundary decisions based on Colonial Land reconstruction theories
Prepare and seal final surveys for boundary, subdivision, site plan etc.
Prepare engineering basemaps for civil and structural design projects
Communicate with architects, engineers, geologists, etc., in a collaborative effort
Coordinate with the Principal Surveyor for evaluation of staffing, equipment, project, and marketing efforts
