About The Position

Samsung Electronics America, Inc. is seeking a Professional II, Software Verification to lead the verification and validation of software design, requirements, and functionality for projects under development. This role involves issue debugging, log analysis, and testing to verify Wireless Mobile operation and validate new UE/Network features on various carrier networks. The position also includes driving field test trials for new technology features and software applications in live networks of US carriers based on 5G/LTE technologies before commercialization. Responsibilities also include analyzing test data, debugging failure logs, finding root causes, and coordinating with R&D teams to resolve wireless features and protocol issues. Creating test plans by analyzing carrier requirements specifications and 3GPP specifications to ensure product compliance is also a key part of the role. The individual will research complex experimental test programs and test frameworks to thoroughly evaluate functionality, design requirements, operational capacity, and customer performance expectations. Collaboration with the R&D team to analyze test data and reports to determine if designs meet functional and performance specifications is expected. Identifying opportunities to improve manual field test scope, such as automation of test data generation, test execution using automation scripts, and updating test scripts using Python, is also required. Effective communication and proactive interfacing with internal and external teams in different geographical regions and time zones are essential.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science a related field, or a related field and three years of experience in the job offered or another related occupation.
  • Three years of experience in 5G NR, LTE and IMS (SIP Protocol for VoLTE/WFC/VT) device validation and analysis aligning with 3GPP, GSMA and Carrier requirements.
  • Three years of experience in debugging protocol log analysis using QXDM, QPST, XCAL, and Wireshark tools.
  • Three years of experience in development of communication protocols, protocols analysis, and 5G/4G/IMS technologies.
  • Three years of experience in end-to-end procedures used for voice and data call establishment, mobility, and interworking with core network entities.
  • Three years of experience with Android and smartphone platforms and Qualcomm/Samsung AP/MDM Chipset Architecture.
  • Three years of experience with system engineering activities including requirements identification, feature description documentation, parameter optimization, performance analysis, test strategy creation, and problem troubleshooting.
  • Three years of experience with automation tools and using automation frameworks with Python.
