Professional Fundraiser - $20/hr Guaranteed + Daily Bonuses
About The Position
Public Outreach is seeking outgoing and motivated individuals to join their Los Angeles fundraising team. This role involves representing major nonprofit organizations focused on causes such as human rights, humanitarian aid, civil liberties, environmental protection, and social justice. The position offers guaranteed hourly pay, daily bonus opportunities, and regular pay reviews. It is not a desk job, requiring significant time outdoors, walking, and engaging in face-to-face conversations with the public. The role emphasizes building communication skills, resilience, and a willingness to learn, with opportunities for advancement within the company.
Requirements
- Must be 18+ years old.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
- Must be able to consistently work at least 3 complete 7-hour shifts per week (minimum 21 hours).
- Must be available for full shifts.
- Comfortable working outdoors, standing, and walking for much of the shift.
- Comfortable starting conversations with members of the public.
- Comfortable travelling with a team to changing fundraising locations.
- Must be able to communicate confidently in English.
- Comfortable receiving feedback and working toward measurable fundraising goals.
- Willingness to learn about various social and environmental issues.
- Resilience and ability to handle rejection.
- Strong communication skills.
- Motivated by goals and self-improvement.
- Reliable and committed.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in fundraising, canvassing, hospitality, customer service, retail, sales, advocacy, community organizing, volunteering, performance, public speaking, or other public-facing work.
Responsibilities
- Represent major nonprofit organizations working on various causes.
- Engage with members of the public face-to-face throughout Los Angeles.
- Learn detailed information about nonprofit campaigns.
- Explain complex issues clearly and persuasively.
- Build genuine conversations and rapport with the public.
- Invite people to support organizations by becoming recurring monthly donors.
- Work alongside a fundraising partner and supportive team.
- Practice fundraising approaches and apply coaching.
- Work toward clear fundraising goals.
- Travel with a team to changing fundraising locations throughout Los Angeles.
