About The Position

SEH is currently searching for a Professional Engineer - Water/Wastewater to join their talented Water/Wastewater team. This role involves leading and supporting projects for municipal, utility, and industrial clients across Virginia, focusing on water and wastewater treatment facilities, distribution and collection systems, pump and lift stations, storage facilities, and related utility improvements. The position requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to develop solutions, manage project aspects like scope, schedule, and budget, foster client relationships, support business development, and mentor junior professionals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required; Virginia PE preferred or ability to obtain within six months.
• 8+ years of experience in water and wastewater infrastructure planning, design, and construction support.
• Experience leading or supporting multidisciplinary projects from planning through construction.
• Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment systems, conveyance infrastructure, utility design standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience preparing engineering reports, calculations, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and related technical deliverables.
• Demonstrated project management experience, including scope, budget, schedule, staffing, and client coordination.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout Virginia.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

• Experience serving Virginia municipalities, utilities, or industrial water/wastewater clients.
• Experience managing water and wastewater treatment facility projects and utility infrastructure improvements.
• Familiarity with hydraulic modeling software and industry-standard design tools.
• Experience with utility master planning, asset management, capital improvement planning, or resilience studies.
• Proposal development and business development experience.
• Established relationships within Virginia's water/wastewater market.
• Active participation in professional organizations such as AWWA, WEF, ACEC, or APWA.
