About The Position

Our employee-owned, multi-disciplinary team is looking for a Professional Mechanical Engineer to join our Rail group in Seattle! This isn’t just another engineering role, you’ll be part of a collaborative team of Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Structural, and Architecture professionals working on projects that keep the nation moving. From Class I and shortline railroads to commuter rail agencies, transit, municipalities, ports, and private developers, you’ll help design and deliver solutions that matter.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited program
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Washington.
  • Experienced professional with 8+ years of experience designing building or industrial processing mechanical systems.
  • Proven experience designing mechanical system - including piping, HVAC, plumbing, and industrial processes.
  • Solid understanding of construction documents, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with clients and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Ability to manage project scope, budgets, and schedules effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Work on a variety of projects, from fueling facilities, fueling facilities, loading/unloading systems, maintenance facilities, tank farms, pump houses, railyard operations, and more.
  • Develop plans, studies, and detailed designs for industrial mechanical systems and building systems. Create process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, equipment layouts, and HVAC/plumbing systems.
  • Support construction administration, interpret plans, observe operations, and ensure everything meets specs.
  • Partner directly with clients and internal teams to define scope, manage budgets and schedules, and maintain quality standards.
