Forensic Structural Engineer, PE (Connecticut area)
About The Position
U.S. Forensic, LLC, an ATS company, is seeking a skilled and motivated Professional Engineer specializing in civil or structural engineering. The engineer will investigate and analyze structural failures, damage, and defects, and may provide expert testimony when needed. The ideal candidate will be based in Connecticut and comfortable supporting cases in the surrounding area. The role is full-time, with travel of up to 25%, and is based in the Connecticut area. U.S. Forensic provides forensic evaluations, reporting, and expert witness testimony for commercial, industrial, and residential clients. Its services include civil and structural engineering, among other technical disciplines. ATS, the parent company, provides testing, inspection, certification, and compliance services and employs nearly 2,100 team members across more than 95 U.S. locations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
- Must qualify as a U.S. Person under the stated ITAR requirements.

Responsibilities
- Conduct forensic investigations to evaluate structural damage, defects, failures, moisture intrusion, premises liability claims, and roofs.
- Perform site inspections and gather relevant data to support forensic analysis.
- Apply engineering principles and practices to analyze and assess structural issues.
- Prepare clear and concise technical reports documenting findings and conclusions.
- Provide expert testimony in legal proceedings when required.
- Stay current with industry trends, codes, and standards related to structural engineering.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
