About The Position

The Department of Mathematics at Western New England University is seeking applications for a full-time, non-tenure track, three-year renewable teaching/administrative Professional Educator of Mathematics position. This role is set to begin in late August 2026. The teaching component involves three courses per semester. The administrative duties include directing the Math Center, which supports student success in freshman and sophomore level mathematics courses. The Director will report to the Department Chair and be responsible for hiring, training, and supervising student tutors, managing payroll, budget, and schedules, conducting statistical analyses, and maintaining regular communication with campus stakeholders. The Department of Mathematics comprises 12 full-time faculty members and offers undergraduate majors in actuarial science, mathematics, data science & statistics, and mathematics for elementary and secondary educators, along with minors in statistics and mathematics. It also provides numerous courses for students across the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business, Engineering, and Pharmacy. Requirements

  • Minimum of a master’s degree in mathematics, mathematics education, or a related field.
  • Expertise in mathematics education.
  • Strong administrative and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated teaching excellence.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a similar type of position.
  • Interest in teaching developmental mathematics courses.

Responsibilities

  • Teach three courses per semester.
