About The Position

Just Right Reader is seeking an experienced learning professional to partner with its Learning Team in delivering engaging professional development and family engagement in virtual and in-person settings. The role supports nationwide, Science of Reading-aligned professional learning for schools and districts, with the goal of strengthening implementation of early literacy instruction and accelerating reading achievement. The contractor facilitates onsite and virtual professional development sessions, leads Family Engagement Nights, and provides implementation support so districts use Just Right Reader resources with fidelity. The role includes presenting to educators and families, modeling effective literacy practices, communicating with district partners, and representing the organization professionally. Contractors complete 1–2 weeks of onboarding and training, followed by ongoing professional development delivery and implementation support. The engagement does not include internal people management, HR responsibilities, or administrative duties. This is an ongoing, part-time independent-contractor engagement, evaluated month to month based on business needs. Work is assigned on a project-by-project basis, with flexible scheduling determined by the contractor, subject to agreed milestones, deadlines, and delivery expectations. Services are primarily remote, with mutually agreed travel for in-person school presentations. Contractors are expected to respond to assignment availability inquiries within 24 hours. In-person events involving travel, preparation, and presentation beyond a standard half-day may require full-day or multi-day commitments. Compensation is project-based and paid monthly for services performed, submitted by invoice.
