About The Position
The Central Louisiana Human Services District (CLHSD) is seeking a Professional Counselor 3 or 4 to provide a full range of clinical services within the Substance Use Disorder (SUD) program. The CLHSD's vision is to ensure access to care for individuals needing behavioral health and developmental disability services in its catchment area. Their mission is to increase public awareness and provide access to integrated, community-based services, promoting wellness, recovery, and independence. CLHSD believes in comprehensive, integrated, person-centered healthcare that supports recovery. Requirements
- Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) or a Provisional Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (PLMFT) plus two years of licensed counseling experience.
Responsibilities
- Participates in the decision-making process of the treatment team, including formulating therapeutic activities.
- Serves as a group leader/facilitator in counseling groups made up of persons with substance use disorders.
- May conduct peer reviews to refine the quality and level of outpatient substance use services provided.
- Manages caseloads of clients diagnosed with substance abuse issues.
