About The Position

Interested in joining our team and helping to serve Acadiana with quality compassionate care? We are looking for a Professional Counselor in our Crowley Behavioral Health Clinic with experience in providing behavioral health assessments, interventions, and counseling to individuals and their families. In this role as a Professional Counselor, you will serve as the primary counselor to individuals with acute and chronic mental illness, substance-use disorder, and co-occurring disorders. Requirements

  • Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
  • Two years of licensed counseling experience.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary counselor to individuals with acute and chronic mental illness, substance-use disorder, and co-occurring disorders.
  • Provide behavioral health assessments, working closely with other staff members to provide ongoing assessment and treatment planning for clients of the clinic and making referrals to other resources as needed.
  • Documents and updates client information and treatment plans in an EHR (Electronic Health Record) System as needed.
  • Coordinating admissions, discharges and follow-up services within various programs and with other team members to ensure the client receives quality treatment.
  • Works in accordance with the laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of all applicable licensing/governmental agencies, accreditation bodies, and within the guidelines set by the Acadiana Area Human Services District.
