Professional Billing Specialist - Follow Up and Denials

About The Position
This entry-level professional billing role is responsible for accurate claim submission and routine follow-up using established workflows in an academic medical environment. Candidates must reside and work full-time in AR, KS, MO, OK, or TX before their first day of employment. The shift is Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm, with some flexibility available. This position may be filled as a Professional Billing Specialist I or II depending on individual experience, education, certification(s), and business need. The ideal candidate will have experience with follow-up and denials.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- At least 1 year of Medical Insurance experience (for Level 1).
- At least 3 years of professional billing experience required (for Level 2).
- CPB required within 1 year of hire date (for Level 2).

- Experience with follow-up and denials.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit professional claims; correct routine claim errors and rejections.
- Work assigned billing and follow-up queues in Epic.
- Apply foundational knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, modifiers, and payer rules.
- Meet productivity, quality, and timeliness standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned
