About The Position

Scottsdale’s Indian School Park Baseball Complex and Scottsdale Stadium are seeking an experienced groundskeeper to join the talented team who expertly maintain a total of 7.5 baseball fields across two sprawling complexes. The ideal candidate will have experience in preparing and maintaining professional baseball and recreational softball fields, grooming and repairing infields, mounds, home plates, and running areas, installing, repairing, and maintaining irrigation system lines, inspecting and adjusting irrigation systems for proper coverage and scheduling, and planting, trimming, fertilizing, and caring for turf, landscaped areas, and surrounding grounds. This role also involves performing daily groundskeeping tasks to ensure facilities remain safe, clean, and litter-free.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent.
  • One year of experience at the Maintenance Worker I level or equivalent experience in the areas of public works, grounds, or landscape maintenance.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or job-related experience that meets the minimum qualifications may be substituted.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted driver's license with no major citations within the past 36 months prior to the start date.
  • The Arizona Department of Motor Vehicles requires that out-of-state driver's licenses must be surrendered within 10 days of relocating to the State of Arizona.
  • Graduated Driver’s Licenses are considered restricted.
  • Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.

Nice To Haves

  • Within six months of hire, an Arizona Pest Control Applicator certification possessing Category 1 (Industrial and Institutional), Category 3 (Ornamental & Turf) and Category 4 (Right-of-Way) must be obtained.
