About The Position
This posting is for a Regular Part-Time Professor position for the CLA2504-A00 course, "Le Haut-empi", during the 2027 Winter Semester in the Faculty of Arts, Department of Classics and Religious Studies. The course covers the general history of Rome from the "first triumvirate" (60 BC) to the accession of Septimius Severus (193 AD). The mode of instruction is in-person, with classes scheduled for Tuesdays from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM and Fridays from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM. The expected enrollment is 45 students, and the course is worth 3 credits. The hourly rate for teaching is $239.47 (2024-2025 rates, excluding vacation and statutory pay, subject to retroactive adjustments after collective agreement ratification).
Requirements
- M.A. in Classics or equivalent.
- Required expertise in the subject matter of the course.
- Competence in French (language of instruction).

Responsibilities
