About The Position

At THRIVE Child Development Centre / THRIVE Centre de développement de l’enfant, we believe in supporting each child and family to reach beyond what is expected toward the extraordinary. As a non-profit Children's Treatment Centre serving Northeastern Ontario, we provide family-centred, strengths-based services that help children and families thrive. We're seeking an experienced and passionate Professional Services Manager – Early Childhood Education (PSM-ECE) to provide leadership to two dedicated teams: our HS McLellan Preschool staff and our Early Learning Resource team. This role is ideal for a leader who is committed to high-quality, inclusive early learning and skilled at bringing families, childcare partners, staff and community agencies together to support children with a wide range of strengths and needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Development or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators (RECE).
  • 3-5 years of experience in licensed childcare.
  • 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
  • Knowledge of childcare licensing, compliance, and quality standards.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within Algoma.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingualism (English/French).
  • Experience in publicly funded health, child development, or community services

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight for THRIVE’s licensed childcare program and Early Learning Resource services, working in collaboration with the Preschool Supervisor and Early Learning Resource team.
  • Oversee licensing, regulatory, and Ministry compliance, with day-to-day compliance activities completed by the Preschool Supervisor.
  • Lead operational planning, program development, service model evaluation, quality improvement, and resource planning to ensure services are responsive, inclusive, sustainable, and aligned with organizational and community needs.
  • Support, coach, and develop early childhood professionals while fostering a positive, inclusive, and psychologically safe workplace.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with families, childcare partners, educators, community agencies, and sector networks to support high-quality, family-centred service delivery and alignment with THRIVE priorities.
  • Provide guidance on inclusive programming, enhanced support planning, specialized resources, and enhanced ratio supports to promote the successful inclusion of children with diverse abilities.
  • Respond to complex, sensitive, or high-risk situations using sound judgement, professionalism, discretion, and a child- and family-centred approach.
  • Oversee budgeting, staffing, recruitment support, and overall resource management.
