About The Position
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Production Worker is primarily responsible for the operation of various shop equipment in order to prepare steel orders for delivery to Salit customers, on time and in compliance with company and customer requirements for quality, in a safe and efficient manner. This position is stationed in our Welland Facility, 90 Centre Street, Welland. Shift work is required for this position.

Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or construction environment (2 – 3 years)
- High School Diploma/ GED equivalent
- Approved safety footwear is required
- Previous overhead crane or fork truck operating experience is an asset
Responsibilities
- Operates machinery, equipment and tools in a safe and efficient manner
- Identify and retrieve structural steel/rebar from warehouse racks to fill orders
- Feeding and unloading processing machines
- Ensure machine guards are in place and material is handled in a safe manner
- Must wear appropriate safety equipment as specified
- Operation of Overhead Cranes (Training certification required prior to operating)
- Operation of Cutting Saws, Rebar Benders and Shears (Training Provided)
- Use of a measuring tape to check material lengths and bends in Rebar Steel
- Follow work instructions, procedures and adhere to Company policies and rules
- Report any unsafe acts or conditions of which you are aware
- Maintaining regular attendance, arriving for scheduled shift on-time
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area
- Adhere to the requirements of section 28 of the Occupational Health & Safety Act
