About The Position

Champion Home Builders, Inc. is hiring a Production Worker - Welder/Fabricator for its manufacturing facility in Laurinburg, North Carolina. Under general supervision, this employee works on a team production line to build manufactured housing and performs quality work at a fast, consistent pace. The role may require travel to work on frames hauling homes. The position is non-exempt. Champion is a leader in manufactured housing and builds factory-made homes and buildings for residential, commercial, and government use. Requirements

Mig/Arc welding experience is required.
Some fabrication/design skills or experience are required.
Strong work ethic.
Ability to work quickly and methodically.
Understanding of safety procedures.
Good teamwork skills.
Must live the Champion Operating Principles.
Regularly stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
Frequently walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
Vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in manufacturing or modular housing is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Perform manual labor in the assigned production area.
Keep the work area neat and clean.
Read and use a tape measure.
Read blueprints and orders.
Communicate with coworkers.
Use hand tools, air tools, and electrical tools.
Travel if needed to work on frames that are hauling homes.
Work as part of a production-line team to build manufactured housing and perform quality work at a fast, consistent pace.
