About The Position

Sonoco, a global leader in packaging solutions, is seeking a Production Worker for its tube and core division in Lewiston, ID. This role involves working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, contributing to the production of high-quality products while adhering to strict safety and quality policies. The position requires excellent attendance, the ability to work effectively in a team, and a strong attention to detail. Requirements

  • At least 1 year in a manufacturing/warehouse environment.
  • A “get it done” attitude and an urgency to resolve problems/tasks.
  • Ability to easily lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
  • Previously held a Forklift Certification and safely operate a forklift.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Working knowledge of Sonoco's products and their quality requirements.
  • Reliability, good initiative, commitment, and quality focus.
  • Ability to effectively work with a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions.
  • Ability to perform repetitive duties, including going up and down stairs and standing for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work quickly while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.
  • Excellent attendance.
  • Proven record of success in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work with various teams.
  • Good eye to spot defects in the packing line.
  • Personal hands-on and analytical abilities, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Work in production for the tube and core division in a quick and safe manner.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments and teams.
  • Think on your feet and troubleshoot problems and situations.
  • Make incremental process adjustments, monitor and report quality of manufactured product.
  • Learn to set up new jobs, train on other lines and in other departments.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
  • Perform all duties as designated by supervisor/manager.
  • Perform all duties in support of Sonoco’s quality and safety policies.
  • Help out other departments as needed.
  • Engage in cleaning and straightening during downtime.
