About The Position

The Production Worker/Sewer fills, sews, and bags pillows according to ATC standards and assigned work. Newly hired or transferred employees are expected to perform the job within six weeks. The role may rotate with other Assembly line workers as needed and includes other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic math skills.
Ability to occasionally carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to and including 35 pounds.
Ability to ambulate or stand for twelve hours a day.
Ability to sit or stand and sew for a full shift.

Nice To Haves

Previous industrial sewing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Fill pillow shells with fiber, place them on the conveyor for sewing, and randomly check weights using QC scales.
Operate a single-needle sewing machine or serging machine to sew ATC pillows.
Accurately sew law tags and care labels into products.
Remove filled pillow shells from the conveyor, sew them, and return completed pillows to the conveyor for further processing.
Replace needles and re-thread machines.
Remove completed pillows from the conveyor and bag them.
Remove packaging from finished pillows for repackaging, make necessary changes to finished products, price-ticket bags and pillow shells, and make needed component changes before production.
Perform production changeover duties between work orders.
Use company equipment and property carefully and safely, report equipment problems to the immediate supervisor or maintenance department, and perform duties in a way that protects personal and coworker safety.
Rotate with other Assembly line workers when needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
