Production Worker / Packaging Operator - Day & Night Shift - Immediate Hire!
About The Position
The Production Worker / Packaging Operator role involves operating machinery for both bagging and baler functions, ensuring adherence to safety guidelines, and assisting in other production areas as needed. This role requires physical stamina, including lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods. Responsibilities include moving and wrapping products, assisting with starting and stopping pellet mills, communicating material issues, and maintaining a clean workstation. Specific duties for the Bagging Operation include operating bagging, baling, shrink wrapping machines, forklifts, and pallet jacks, as well as stacking bags, wrapping pallets, and completing production reports. For the Baler Operation, duties include stacking bales, sealing them, wrapping pallets, completing production reports, checking bale weights, and recording information on reports and quality control tags.
Requirements
- Good eye, hand, and foot coordination.
- Ability to pass company forklift training.
- Ability to read and interpret scales.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to adjust weight and timing of baler and perform simple maintenance.
Nice To Haves
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Prior forklift and production line experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform bagging and baler functions as determined by Shift Leads.
- Operate machinery in a productive manner using established safety guidelines and procedures.
- Assist other production areas as needed.
- Move and wrap completed products.
- Lift up to 50 lbs and stand for a minimum of 7 hours per day.
- Assist Shift Leads to start and stop pellet mills.
- Communicate any moisture or material problems to Shift Lead.
- Maintain a clean workstation.
- Operate bagging and baler machines, shrink wrapping machines, forklifts, pallet jack, and bag sealer.
- Stack bags on pallets, put covers on pallets, and place finished goods in the correct warehouse location.
- Accurately complete the Bagger production report, fill pellet sample cups every ton for quality control, and tag pallets with Quality Control tag.
- Stack bales on pallets, seal bales with an iron, and wrap pallets.
- Accurately complete the Baler Operator production report, check bale weight, and record information on various reports and quality control tags.
