About The Position

Champion Home Builders, Inc. is seeking to hire a Forklift Operator to join their team in York, NE. This role involves loading, unloading, and moving materials within or near the plant, yard, or worksite. The Forklift Operator will read work orders or follow oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved, open containers, and load/unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand. They will also load material into vehicles and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit. The position requires conveying materials from storage or work sites to designated areas in a timely manner to assist the production team in meeting production timelines, securing lifting attachments to materials, and conveying loads to destinations or signaling crane or hoisting operators. The role also involves counting, weighing, and recording the number of units of materials moved or handled on a daily production sheet, attaching identifying tags or labels to materials, and loading trucks for Industrial Truck Operators. Additionally, the Forklift Operator will stack or assemble materials into bundles and band them together, and lift heavy objects by hand or with power hoists.

Previous Fork Lift Operator experience desired.
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment desired
Must be able to pass a 7 Panel Drug Screen.

Responsibilities

Loads, unloads and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site.
Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
Opens containers.
Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks and shelves by hand.
Loads material into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area in a timely manner to assist production team in meeting production time lines.
Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination or signals crane or hoisting operators to move load to destination.
Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet.
Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales or other containers.
Loads trucks for Industrial Truck Operator.
Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together.
Lifts heavy objects by hand or with power hoists.
