About The Position

The Production Wax Assembler is responsible for assembling complex segmented patterns in a dimensionally controlled fixture in preparation for the gating process. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, the ability to follow complex instructions, and proficiency in using various tools and techniques to ensure the dimensional integrity and quality of the assembled patterns.

Requirements

  • Ability to apply pattern assembly techniques, methods, materials, fixturing and construction.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with others.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and promote team development.
  • Ability to read and follow complex written instructions.
  • Ability to lift and/or maneuver objects weighing thirty to fifty pounds and occasionally up to one hundred twenty-five pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to work in conditions which may include exposure to noise, fumes, crowding, awkward physical positions, abrasions, cuts, and chemicals.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly required to stand; sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell.
  • Occasionally required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect pattern components and dimensional fixture prior to loading.
  • Pre-inspect pattern and dimensional fixture prior to start of assembly.
  • Read and follow technique card assembly instructions, which describe numerous unique assembly steps of a complex nature.
  • Plan the methods for completing a given assignment and select among alternative assembly methods.
  • Accurately assemble complex multi-component patterns to maintain dimensional integrity.
  • Assemble complex multi-component patterns by means of torch, hot pencils, and a variety of hand tools.
  • Assemble complex patterns using full-time dimensional fixturing to maintain dimensional control and stability.
  • Manipulate fixture/pattern components to remove configuration discrepancies and verify dimensional integrity.
  • Possibly develop code sheets for engineering-requested modifications or deviations to standard assemblies.
