About The Position

Arktura LLC, a subsidiary of Armstrong World Industries, is seeking a Production Vendor Coordinator in Carson, California. This role is part of a supportive culture that recognizes employees as key players in the company's future. Arktura LLC is a widely published company headquartered in a fast-paced design office and manufacturing facility in Los Angeles, CA. They design, develop, and manufacture a variety of façade systems, interior wall and ceiling systems, and custom art installations using state-of-the-art equipment in their 100,000 sf facility. The Production Vendor Coordinator will work under the direction of the Production Supervisor with guidance from a Senior Production Associate. The primary responsibility is preparing orders to go to vendors for Standard, Adaptive, and/or Architectural products.

Requirements

  • Possess basic arithmetic skills.
  • Possess knowledge of personal computers skills.
  • Communication and people skills; team player willing to learn.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment (i.e., ability to wear required PPE, work in a dusty, hot, non-climate-controlled environment; with stairs, frequent walking, standing and occasional lifting of material).
  • Ability to work off shift hours in support of plant initiatives.
  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in core production roles within 90 days of hire.
  • Forklift Certification required (within 60 days of starting the role).
  • Valid California driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment a plus.
  • CPR & First Aid Certification a plus.
  • Cal OSHA 10 a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform transactions in Shop-Trak; providing updates on project status, material moves, and scrap for all operations.
  • Lead OPP operators and coordinate their daily activities to ensure jobs are progressing on schedule.
  • Count, sort, and organize parts to ensure full orders are prepared for outside services.
  • Collect necessary materials and supplies for prep processes; conduct inventory, resupply prep materials as needed.
  • Label, package, and prepare completed orders for shipment to outside vendors.
  • Maintain organization of prep and staging areas.
  • Coordinate with planning to organize what is ready for outside service and to obtain proper paperwork.
  • Work with shipping to schedule pickup and ensure correct deliveries for outside service processes.
  • Identify product defects and report necessary nonconformances to Senior Production Associate, Supervisor, and/or Quality Inspector.
  • Perform reworks/repairs in accordance with industry best practices and/or engineering instructions.
  • Unload, receive, and store raw materials and supplies.
  • Complete work as required to meet production and schedule requirements.
  • Follow safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment as required.
  • Maintain equipment and work areas; clean and perform basic repairs as needed.
