Authentic helps insurance brokers create better insurance products for their clients. We provide the technology platform and behind-the-scenes support that lets brokers build custom insurance solutions for specific industries or customer groups. Think of us as the operating system that powers these specialized insurance offerings. For brokers, this means they can offer unique products their competitors don't have, earn more money, and spend less time on paperwork and administrative tasks. We handle the complex (technology, compliance, and partnerships with highly-rated insurance carriers), so they can focus on serving their customers and growing their business. We’re hiring a detail-oriented, analytical, and business-minded underwriter to join our growing team. This role is ideal for candidates with early to mid-career underwriting experience in the energy space who are excited to work in a fast-paced startup environment and want to help build scalable underwriting processes from the ground up. You’ll play a critical role in evaluating risk, pricing insurance programs, and partnering closely with sales, product, and operations teams to support the growth of Authentic’s newly launched energy program.

Requirements

4+ years of underwriting experience in the energy space
Strong analytical and quantitative skills with high attention to detail
Ability to evaluate risk and make sound underwriting judgments in ambiguous situations
Comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

Evaluate, underwrite, and price risks in line with underwriting guidelines and program objectives
Review applications, loss histories, financials, and other underwriting data to assess risk exposure
Develop and refine underwriting guidelines for new and existing insurance programs
Collaborate with sales and operations teams to support new program launches and renewals
Monitor portfolio performance, loss ratios, and emerging risk trends
Contribute to process improvement, automation, and documentation as the underwriting function scales
