About The Position

The Production Trainer is responsible for analyzing training needs, supporting the development of curriculum, maintaining and updating training documents, and delivering training to Production Operators, both on-the-job and in classroom settings. This role involves executing training plans for various production-related tasks for new and existing employees, conducting training needs assessments, and providing training in classroom, virtual, and on-the-job settings. The trainer will accurately record training assessments, complete required training documents, and provide status updates to the Training Coordinator and Supervisors. Collaboration with the Training Coordinator, peer trainers, management, and leads is essential to ensure consistency across shifts regarding training and quality standards. The role also includes making recommendations for employee skill advancement, supporting the development and updating of training materials and work instructions, and preparing training materials. Additionally, the Production Trainer must comply with EHS policies, report unsafe conditions, resolve potential hazards, attend EHS trainings, and assist in achieving EHS goals. Demonstrating safe work habits, adhering to general safety procedures, and ensuring strict adherence to fall protection and Lockout/Tagout (LO/TO) procedures are critical. The role also requires following Product Safety and Quality standards, GMPs, IPC product defense standards, and SQF requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years’ experience working in a production training or leadership role.
  • Proficient with computers and computer programs
  • Must be able to communicate on a one-on-one basis or in group situations, understand instructions, and follow SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures), and effective communication with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to actively engage with trainees utilizing effective communication and listening skills

Responsibilities

  • Execute training plans of various production related tasks for new and existing employees.
  • Conduct training needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed.
  • Conduct training both in-classroom, virtual, and on-the-job.
  • Accurately record training assessments and complete required training documents for employees in training.
  • Provide accurate training status updates to Training Coordinator and Supervisors.
  • Collaborate with Training Coordinator, peer Production Trainers, management and leads to ensure consistency across all shifts regarding training and quality standards.
  • Make recommendations for employee skill advancement and support with objective analysis.
  • Support Training Coordinator and Process Owners in developing and updating training materials and work instructions.
  • Prepare training materials, manuals, copying materials, etc.
  • Must maintain regular and consistent attendance.
  • Comply with the EHS Policy and applicable regulatory and company EHS rules and requirements.
  • Prompt reporting of any unsafe conditions, practices, or environmental concerns to supervision.
  • Resolving potential hazards swiftly, thereby ensuring a safe work environment for all employees.
  • Attend scheduled EHS trainings.
  • Actively assist the organization in achieving or surpassing EHS goals.
  • Identify areas for improvement in EHS practices and recommend enhancements to contribute to our commitment to a safe work environment.
  • Demonstrates safe work habits by adhering to general safety procedures, including correct techniques for lifting and bending, maintaining proper ergonomics, using equipment correctly, and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Ensures that all fall protection procedures are strictly adhered to including but not limited to the use of harness, platform ladders, railing, lifts
  • Ensures strict adherence to all safety procedures, including the enforcement and discipline related to Lockout/Tagout (LO/TO) procedures.
  • Follows Product Safety and Quality standards.
  • Follows GMP’s in regard to food contact packaging as it pertains to the employee.
  • Follows IPC product defense standards and complies with all Safe Quality Food (SQF) requirements.
