About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Production Trainer - 2nd Shift. This position is eligible for a variable incentive program. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. The hourly rate for this position is $21.60 per hour plus a $1.00 per hour shift differential. The hours for this shift are Monday through Friday from 3:30 pm - 12:00 am.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 1 year manufacturing, distribution, or military experience.
  • Minimum 6 months of Eaton production experience.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Two or more years of Switchboard production experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office package.
  • One or more years supporting on the job production training.
  • Fully bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Work with individuals and groups to effectively participate within team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop training programs for manufacturing assembly, including instructional materials, hands-on activities, and assessments.
  • Develop and conduct boot camp for new hires. Walk through and introduce new employees with the team.
  • Follow up and assigned an Eaton buddy to new hires for the first four weeks with a training checklist.
  • Facilitate site-wide training programs for all hourly production employees. Programs may include, but are not limited to on-the-job training, classroom trainings.
  • Assisting in the onboarding, enrollment and benefits processes. Collaborate with OPEX, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and EHS to ensure that all product quality and safety factors are included in the onboarding training material.
  • Provide general access to employees for ENOVIA, shop buddy, Windows account, PCAT accesses and others.
  • Conduct training sessions for employees on assembly processes, safety protocols, and quality standards. Implement new training with any new operational needs for productivity as needed.
  • Conduct annual re-certification in cranes, and lift assist.
  • Maintain and store training records and have them accessible according to legal standards.
  • Assess the competency and performance for all employees through observations, tests, provide feedback, and support with additional training as needed.
  • Collaborate with the production team to identify areas for improvement in assembly processes and update training materials accordingly. Partner with leaders to update training records, develop/update training content, and ensure training compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records of training sessions, attendance, and employee progress.
  • Ensure all training programs comply with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct training sessions for employees, collaborating with leaders on facilitating and implementing cross training throughout the facility as well as focusing on the manning strategy to ensure all areas are covered; and keeping up to date matrix to continuously grow employees in their progression.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in production processes and flex to support production processes as needed.
  • Cultivate teamwork and lead by example in areas such as safety, Eaton’s leadership attributes, initiative, quality assurance, continuous Improvement, product knowledge and sharing best practices.
  • Participate and lead continuous initiatives.
  • Ensure Eaton University trainings are assigned and completed by employees.
  • Other activities related to this position may be assigned by Production and/or Warehouse Supervisor.
  • PIT Certifications.
  • Warehouse-specific training and onboarding.
  • Cross-training and compliance tracking.
  • Annual re-certifications (e.g., forklift).
  • Competency assessments and training matrix maintenance.
  • Backup for Warehouse/Shipping/Receiving Leads.
