About The Position

Astronics AES is seeking a Production Test Technician on Weekend Shift in Redmond, WA. This position will work Friday - Sunday, 5:30 am - 6:30 pm. Work 36 hours and get paid for 40! The Production Test Technician will test assembled parts or products for defects, wear, and deviations from specifications using precision measuring instruments and complex test equipment. This position will carry out their duties with an emphasis on 5s, safety, calibration, and quality while following set procedures and standard operational guidelines.

Requirements

  • Associate degree (AS) in Electronics Technology or related field/ equivalent electronics military schooling and experience required
  • High-power electronics and/or high-power avionics technician experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Total qualifying experience must meet the years, duties, skills and proficiency required to perform the position level standards.
  • Demonstrates familiarity (typically 1-2 years of direct experience in the essential functions of the position)

  • Inspecting Equipment, Structures, or Material - Inspecting equipment, products, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects

  • Deductive Reasoning - The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
  • Interacting with Computers - Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, set up functions, enter data, or process information
  • Communicating with Supervisors and Peers- Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person
  • Analyzing Data or Information - Identifying the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Electrical/electronic knowledge
  • Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming
  • Industrial control software - Control and data acquisition software (ie HiPot)
  • Manual dexterity
  • Lifting heavy (typically 40 lbs) items
  • Near vision
  • Color and brightness differentiation - The ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness

Responsibilities

  • May occasionally perform the set-up, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies
  • Test and troubleshoot (less complex) assemblies and/or final systems
  • May occasionally complete rework on assemblies and/or systems as a result of testing
  • May occasionally prepare reports of summarizing findings
  • May occasionally assist in the set-up of specialized test equipment
  • Monitor and adjust production processes for quality and productivity
  • Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, or engineering instructions for assembling electronics units, applying knowledge of electronic theory and components
  • Perform other duties as assigned
