About The Position

Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is seeking a Production Test Technician – Level 1 or Level 2 to join their team in Dulles, VA. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. This position will be performing day-to-day work in the Component Test Lab (CTL) work center. The position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off. Test campaigns may require 12-hour shift work. This position can be filled at either a Level 1 or Level 2.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 0 years additional education and/or related experience (for Level 1).
  • High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience (for Level 2).
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Security Clearance.
  • Ability to lift 30lbs.
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook), Teams chat.
  • Should be able to print out Test procedures though Windchill or similar systems as needed with basic training provided.

Nice To Haves

  • Active security clearance with investigation closeout within the last 3 years.
  • Developmental or Operational test experience.
  • Mix of back shop and flightline maintenance experience.
  • Experience with multimeters, oscilloscopes.
  • Technician in an industry preferably in test area but can be accepted in electronics, mechanics or assembly experience in lieu of test.

Responsibilities

  • Operate electronic ground support equipment (EGSE) Test racks by mating/demating cables for Avionics & box level testing, performs checkout pre- and post-use inspections, data gathering and other requirements as necessary.
  • Sets up test apparatus and conducts tests for circuit card assemblies (CCA’s) & Avionics boxes by following methods, procedures, standards, and sequences.
  • Lays out and assembles units for production equipment according to designs and specifications.
  • Adjusts and calibrate systems as needed.
  • Uses hand and small power tools, and various measuring and testing devices in performing job duties.
  • May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
  • Test, troubleshooting, removal, installation, modification, and maintenance of Avionics Boxes & circuit card Assemblies with collaboration & support from Test Engineering group.
  • Must be able to read and interpret schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions to fabricate and assemble necessary fixtures and/or components.
  • Conducting tests and reporting data in the prescribed format, using predetermined methods, sequences, and setups to inspect or test specific equipment or products.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends as required.
