Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production test environment, preferably with optoelectronic or telecommunications equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Strong understanding of electronic circuits and test methodologies.
  • Experience with various test equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and signal generators.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data recording.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with fiber optic technology and associated test equipment (e.g., optical power meters, OTDRs) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Execute standardized test procedures and document test results accurately.
  • Perform functional, performance, and environmental testing on optoelectronic, fiber optic, and electrical assemblies and systems.
  • Identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot failures to the component level using various test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power meters, DVMs).
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve production issues and improve product quality.
  • Set up and maintain test fixtures, equipment, and workstations.
  • Follow strict safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and provide feedback on test procedures and product design.
  • Perform basic soldering and rework as needed.
  • Document non-conformances and assist in root cause analysis.
