About The Position

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a skilled and motivated Production Test Technician (Level 1 or Level 2) to join our dynamic team in Ridgecrest, California. This role is essential to supporting the testing and evaluation of electro-mechanical systems critical to national defense. In this hands-on position, you’ll be responsible for setting up, executing, and documenting tests in accordance with detailed procedures and customer requirements. The role demands a strong commitment to quality, adherence to ESD and FOD protocols, and the ability to meet production goals in a high-paced manufacturing environment. This position will be for 2nd shift - 2pm-11:30PM. - Shift differential pay is available for this position.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with 0-2 years of relevant industry experience (Level 1)
  • High school diploma or GED with minimum of 4 years of relevant industry experience (Level 2)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
  • Able to work overtime as needed
  • Active DoD Secret clearance (in scope within the last 3–5 years)
  • Familiarity with Maintenance Data Collection systems (MES, FMT, CAMS, etc.) (Level 2)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the aerospace or defense industry
  • Understanding of environmental chamber operations
  • Familiarity with quality systems and standards
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following: Electrical test set-up and performance, Preventive maintenance and calibration, Test equipment troubleshooting and repair, Anechoic and thermal chamber operations, Use of test instruments (power supplies, oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, multimeters, etc.), Data logging and reporting using Excel

Responsibilities

  • Set up and perform testing of electro-mechanical devices following written instructions
  • Record and analyze test data to ensure compliance with customer specifications
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area following ESD and FOD procedures
  • Collaborate respectfully and effectively within a close-knit team
  • Operate independently with minimal supervision
  • Occasionally lift heavy equipment (up to 30 lbs) and work overtime when required
