About The Position

The Production Test Technician is responsible for performing post-production testing, functional verification, and final acceptance testing of Aviation Ground Power Unit (AGPU) systems and related equipment. This position ensures completed products meet established engineering, production, quality, and customer requirements before release or shipment. The technician will execute approved test procedures, operate test equipment, document results, identify nonconformances, and work closely with Quality, Engineering, Production, and Program Management to resolve issues. The position plays a critical role in ensuring reliable, mission-ready products supporting U.S. Army and other defense customers.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
2+ years of experience performing production testing, functional testing, inspection, troubleshooting, or related manufacturing activities preferred.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, specifications, and test procedures.
Ability to use basic electrical, mechanical, and electronic test equipment.
Ability to accurately document test results and identify discrepancies.
Basic understanding of quality control principles and product acceptance requirements.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Must be a U.S. citizen and able to meet applicable federal program requirements, if required by the assigned program.

Nice To Haves

Technical training, associate degree, or equivalent experience in electronics, electrical systems, mechanical systems, industrial technology, or a related field preferred.
Experience testing ground power equipment, aerospace or defense systems, generators, power electronics, or related mechanical/electrical equipment.
Experience with similar military ground support equipment.
Experience performing testing in accordance with formal Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs).
Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems and controlled test documentation.
Experience with troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, or power-generation systems.
Experience working in a regulated manufacturing or government-contracting environment.
Ability to interpret test data and identify trends or recurring failure modes.

Responsibilities

Perform post-production functional testing of AGPU systems and related equipment in accordance with approved test procedures, work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
Conduct final acceptance testing, operational checks, and performance verification prior to product release.
Verify equipment operation, functionality, workmanship, and conformance to applicable requirements.
Perform testing associated with production units, repaired or reworked equipment, and authorized engineering changes.
Support customer, government, and partner-nation acceptance testing as directed.
Set up, operate, and maintain test equipment, fixtures, instrumentation, and associated support equipment.
Verify test equipment calibration status before use and report calibration or equipment issues.
Follow established safety procedures, including electrical, mechanical, and equipment-specific safety requirements.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe test area consistent with STS 5S and operational excellence expectations.
Accurately record test results, measurements, discrepancies, and acceptance data in approved forms and systems.
Ensure test documentation is complete, legible, traceable, and maintained in accordance with STS quality procedures.
Identify, document, and communicate nonconforming conditions or test failures to Quality and appropriate functional personnel.
Support root cause investigations, corrective actions, retesting, and verification of corrective actions.
Maintain product and test records required to demonstrate conformity and customer acceptance.
Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Program Management to resolve test-related issues and minimize production delays.
Provide timely feedback regarding recurring defects, test failures, documentation gaps, and opportunities for process improvement.
Support the development and improvement of test procedures, work instructions, checklists, and troubleshooting guides.
Assist with product troubleshooting and technical investigations within the scope of assigned responsibilities.
Support continuous improvement initiatives that improve first-pass yield, reduce rework, and enhance product reliability.
Support incoming, in-process, or final inspection activities when qualified and assigned.
Assist with training other technicians on approved test procedures and equipment.
