About The Position

Leidos is seeking a Production Test Engineer to join their Defense Systems / Manufacturing team at the Platform Integration Facility in Huntsville, AL. This role supports a rapidly growing program, working alongside electrical and mechanical test engineers and test technicians. The primary focus will be on developing acceptance and qualification testing procedures for various electronic and mechanical components. Additionally, the position involves supporting ongoing test cases and establishing procedures, baselines, and methods for the manufacturing process. Requirements

  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Electrical Engineering with 4-8 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 2-6 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrate relevant skills in one or more focus areas, have good interpersonal skills, and have the desire to work in a highly focused technical team
  • Possess basic skills using hand tools, electrical troubleshooting (DMM), and MS Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Have advanced experience reading mechanical assembly drawings, electrical schematics, and other manufacturing documentation
  • Be able to work independently, or as part of a team, in a dedicated workforce
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs
  • Must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in acceptance testing including electrical devices, mechanical functions, software integration, and RF measurements
  • Working knowledge and operation of electronic test equipment (e.g. oscilloscope, voltmeter, signal analyzer/generator)
  • Experience preparing and presenting briefings and/or demonstrations to customers and management
  • Organizational skills to document test procedures, test reports and support configuration management of the test equipment
  • Explosive/Ordnance training
  • Experience in the functional testing of avionics components

Responsibilities

  • Creating, modifying, and executing test plans for development, qualification, and acceptance phases of manufacturing projects
  • Completing requirements verification and validation documentation and reports
  • Performing test data analysis and generating test reports from that analysis
  • Briefing both internal and external parties on test results and data
  • Debugging software and/or hardware with various tools
  • Handling all tasks assigned by the supervisor and writing reports and updating records
  • Setting up test equipment, performing functional testing of hardware, confirming software functionality, setting up dynamic/climatic test environments, and subsystem AI&T
