About The Position

Raytheon's internship program is designed to empower growth by exploring the dynamic nature of the defense industry throughout Raytheon Operations, Supply Chain & Quality (OSCQ). Throughout the summer, you will be able to expand your knowledge of OSCQ while also gaining unprecedented exposure to leadership along the way. Production Test Engineers (PTE) are part of a manufacturing team who support the test process through one or more phases of the product life cycle, including product development, transition to production, sustained production and depot activities. PTEs validates and ensures compliance of the prime hardware to technical data package requirements and supporting test equipment. Interns will support the troubleshooting and problem solving of test failures while identifying opportunities in test processes to improve efficiency, yields, and capacity.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major, and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
  • Experience may be obtained through on‑the‑job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Responsibilities

  • Support the validation of new or modified test equipment for production use
  • Ensure the operation of test equipment and associated work instructions are accurate
  • Ensure test equipment and software meet the test requirements specified for the product
  • Monitor and improve the test process through analysis of predictive metrics of trends, failure modes, and test yields
  • Perform preliminary investigation of problem resolution
  • Maintain changes to the test equipment technical data package which includes drawings, test instructions, test position manuals, and system software
  • Assist in non-routine fault isolation, diagnosis and repair of the product or test equipment
  • Lead root cause and corrective action investigations and present findings
