The Production Technician is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining automated welding cells to ensure consistent, high-quality welds across production runs. This role combines hands-on fabrication skills with basic robot programming/teaching, equipment troubleshooting, and quality inspection. Operators ensure the weld cell runs safely, efficiently, and within defined process parameters.

Responsibilities

  • Load/Unload parts, fixtures, and tooling in a robotic welding cell.
  • Interface with operating software to effectively run the necessary parts.
  • Verify correct part orientation, clamping and fixturing.
  • Collect and annotate data (e.g., imagery, sensor readings, 3D scans, or operational logs).
  • Monitor system performance and report hardware, software, or network issues.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity, verifying that all required parameters are captured.
  • Collaborate with engineering to optimize collection protocols.
  • Maintain operational logs and safety compliance during remote or autonomous operation.
