Requirements

  • Have the qualifications required for an Associate Technician.
  • Competent in performing the tasks of one or more departments at or above the satisfactory levels as detailed in the location competency models.
  • 1-2 years of previous related experience and/or training or able to perform the functions of this position meeting standard production goals.
  • Must have strong fine motor skills and dexterity to coordinate use of hands and fingers to grasp, feel objects, transfer small items from one hand to another, fine manipulation, and bilateral reach with arms.
  • Use of close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Exemplifies team work and demonstrates leadership skills, good judgment and critical decision making skill.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of duties in one or more of the areas of surface, coating or finish as assigned.
  • Perform all duties and procedures according to established standards (SOP) and in compliance with all safety, company, training and governing body policies.
  • Maintain regular, prompt attendance and availability for overtime as needed.
  • Perform all duties of the Associate Technician – tray-up, operate beveler, mounter, roll and polish, finish layout, inspection.
  • Operate a variety of machines to cut/size/shape lenses and mount those lenses into specific and specialty frames for difficult and priority jobs.
  • Block, polish, deblock/wash lenses.
  • Inspect lenses to ensure that they are optically, cosmetically accurate, and in compliance with work ticket.
  • Perform duties in coating - AR Staging, Clipping, Hard Coat Inspection, AR Coat, Monitor machines.
  • Operate Sandblast machine.
  • Operate and maintain tools and machinery associated with your assignment.
  • Perform basic PM tasks to care for equipment and the building.
  • Perform operational start up, shut down and machine calibrations.
  • Inspect small parts for defects and quality control.
  • Troubleshoot; Identify and isolate production defects.
  • Assemble small components using hand tools, requiring precision and attention to detail.
  • Work in a role with measurable standards – maintaining production goals.
  • Perform duties as an Onboarding Peer and/or Trainer.
  • Support new team members in onboarding and development of all team members when needed or assigned.
  • Rotate positions in operations to meet production needs.
  • Perform lead duties as assigned by the department Supervisor.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and trained procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
