About The Position

Production Technician Barberton, OH, United States | req32437 What you will enjoy doing You will operate and control process units and equipment both in the field and from the control station to ensure safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible operations Monitor plant performance for efficiency, proactively identifying and anticipating issues before they arise In this role, coordinate work requests, permits, and equipment isolations, ensuring safe return to normal operations Additionally, provide front-line communication to customers and facility management regarding product and process conditions and supply status Take responsibility for maintaining production records and implementing standard operating procedures for starting and stopping major equipment to maintain reliability and prevent delays Further, exercise sound judgment when making process decisions within established boundaries and contribute to improving and updating standard operating procedures Also, assist facility in supporting process training efforts, PSM and environmental compliance documentation as well as maintenance activities associated with plant operations
Requirements
- Strong commitment to personal safety, environmental accountability, and adherence to all safety programs and requirements
- Knowledgeable and practiced in all emergency procedures
- Maintain training compliance
- Meet the physical requirements of the role, including confined space entry, climbing, lifting up to fifty pounds, and working at heights

Responsibilities

- Monitor plant performance for efficiency, proactively identifying and anticipating issues before they arise

- Maintain production records and implement standard operating procedures for starting and stopping major equipment to maintain reliability and prevent delays
- Exercise sound judgment when making process decisions within established boundaries
- Contribute to improving and updating standard operating procedures
- Assist facility in supporting process training efforts, PSM and environmental compliance documentation
- Assist with maintenance activities associated with plant operations
- Wear required personal protective equipment, comply with lockout and tagout policy, and issue, monitor, and close out safe work and confined space permits
- Support safety initiatives such as safety inspections, incident reporting, and behavior-based safety programs
- Assist in the development and execution of safe standard operating procedures
- Maintain facility housekeeping
- Participate in turnaround planning and execution
- Assist with routine maintenance and process safety management activities
