About The Position

At Roche, the Production Technician plays a crucial role in supporting manufacturing operations across manufacturing, packaging, and product labeling areas. This position involves setting up and operating automatic or semi-automatic machines to produce the company's products, following process sheets or instructions from a supervisor. Key tasks include inspecting operations against predetermined tolerances, providing support to various areas or programs, and interacting with internal customers. The technician is also responsible for performing specialized semi-routine support duties within their assigned area and is committed to maintaining and continuously improving the quality system to achieve quality objectives through daily actions. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Thorough understanding of the principles and applications of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ISO 9001
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Detail-oriented

  • Specialized training or certification in a particular area, system or equipment
  • 1 year of related experience in operations or manufacturing
  • Experience in the team-oriented work environment
  • Experience in a regulated work environment
  • Thorough understanding of appropriate safety, health, and environmental procedures
  • ERP and/or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) experience
  • Experience working in a Lean Manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate equipment and processes by standard operating procedures and pilot protocols.
  • Inspect product for quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Complete and ensure accuracy of all process orders and associated required documentation, records and metrics.
  • Prepare work centers for appropriate line clearance procedures and conduct regular cleaning by standard operating procedures.
  • May train others in the department as needed.
  • Support manufacturing operations either in the manufacturing, packaging, and/or product labeling areas.
  • Work from process sheets or written/verbal instructions given by the supervisor to perform production tasks.
  • Check and inspect operations against predetermined tolerances.
  • Provide support to an area, person, or program.
  • Interface with internal customers and perform semi-routine support duties of a specialized nature within an assigned area.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the quality system and achieve quality objectives through daily actions.
