Responsible for maintaining and improving plant performance. This is typically a non-shift work position, although situations may require work outside normal shifts. The Performance Technician will perform mechanical, instrument, and electrical maintenance. The role requires manipulating air separation controls to meet product specifications and production requirements, adjusting plant control variables, and monitoring/managing process equipment parameters. The technician will gain knowledge of air separation theory and related equipment, understand plant water chemistry for cooling tower operations, and develop troubleshooting skills for process upsets. A Qualified Electrical Worker certification is required. Maintenance on compressors, pumps, turbines, valves, motors, and other plant equipment is performed as needed. The role involves reading and interpreting technical drawings, including Process & Instrument Drawings, to understand operations and aid in troubleshooting. Participation in the maintenance and updating of work instructions for accurate start-up and operational procedures is expected. The technician will demonstrate mechanical aptitude, evaluate equipment performance, perform routine calibration and maintenance of analytical test equipment, and maintain records. Safety consciousness is paramount, including participation in safety meetings, maintaining safe work areas, and hazard elimination. The ability to prepare and maintain production operations and distribution records to meet FDA, DPA, OSHA, ISO Quality Systems, and other internal/external requirements is essential. Preparing QA documents to certify product quality, transcribing data for reports, and maintaining good communication skills are also key aspects of the role. The technician is responsible for reviewing and releasing medical-grade product per FDA regulations, troubleshooting operational issues and alarms, assisting with plant start-ups/shutdowns, optimizing plant performance by tracking data and implementing operating plans, executing productivity ideas and best practices, and interacting closely with supporting groups for optimization and troubleshooting. Other projects and duties as assigned, and compliance with all policies and standards are also part of the role.
