About The Position

The Universal Group, recognized as one of Canada's Best Managed companies in 2025, has exciting opportunities for a Production Technician in our manufacturing team. As a Production Technician, the primary responsibility is to contribute to the efficient and smooth operation of the production process. This role involves executing manufacturing tasks, operating machinery, and ensuring the quality and quantity of output meet established standards. The Production Technician plays a key role in assembling, testing, and inspecting products. Additionally, the position involves collaborating with the production team to achieve production goals.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Must have a Class 5 driver’s license.
Ability to operate and control equipment.
Ability to perform accurate and thorough quality checks on products and parts.
Capability to rotate through various tasks and manage work assignments.
Skill in identifying and resolving issues with equipment or production processes.
Capacity to follow and communicate work procedures accurately.
Adherence to safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery.

Nice To Haves

Forklift certification is beneficial but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

Perform quality checks on products and parts.
Review work orders to ensure work is performed according to specifications.
Cutting and handling of aluminum sheets.
Assisting in assembly of highway signage.
Applicating graphics to aluminum substrate.
Proficient/comfortable using equipment, such as table saw, metal shear, grinder.
Safely control and operate equipment, such as forklifts.
