About The Position

This position is for an hourly production role located in the Fort Smith, AR to Van Buren, AR area. The role involves working on a moving conveyor belt, performing various packing and weighing tasks, and ensuring product quality by pulling bones and inspecting product. Teamwork and adherence to Simmons Operating Systems principles are essential. The job requires the ability to perform physical activities such as moving up to 55 pounds, bending, stooping, walking, standing, and working in a cold, wet, noisy, and dusty environment for the entire shift. Repetitive motion is involved, and the role may include rotating through different temperature zones within the plant. Standard Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required.

Requirements

• Must be able to move, push or pull up to 55 pounds from table to scales at waist level.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, walk, stand and work in a cold, wet, noisy, dusty environment for entire shift.
• Must be able to perform repetitive motion.
• May include rotating through cold and hot areas of the plant.
• Requires standard waterproof gloves, sleeves, hearing protection, slip resistant footwear.

Nice To Haves

• Preference for poultry or food processing organization experience.

Responsibilities

• Works on a moving conveyor belt using both hands.
• Spreads or styles product by hand on the belt.
• Performs multiple types of packing and weighing.
• Pulls bones from product; inspects, grades and removes product that does not meet standards.
• Participates as a member of the Team, fostering cohesiveness and coordinating work to ensure best practices.
• Familiar with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies, LEAN) and understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity and support these systems.
• Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
