About The Position

The Production Technician is responsible for performing various tasks related to job setup, process monitoring, and troubleshooting to ensure parts meet production requirements. This role also involves adhering to food safety standards and maintaining a safe working environment. The position requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a manufacturing setting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency, or three to five years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications.
  • Provide all applicable tools to perform duties.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mold changes, insert changes, and assist with material changes.
  • Verify and change colorant and in-mold labels per work order.
  • Ensure all safety devices on presses and auxiliary equipment are functioning.
  • Set up auxiliary equipment and workstations for optimal workflow.
  • Complete Molding Start Up Shutdown Checklist (F-407).
  • Submit last shot and tool logbook with molds, reporting any tool issues.
  • Clean the machine and return components to proper storage.
  • Review and record process parameters for presses.
  • Identify and correct process problems.
  • Seek opportunities to improve process performance and efficiency.
  • Make adjustments to machines, auxiliary equipment, and processes to meet production requirements.
  • Document all process changes.
  • Communicate with Quality Assurance Inspectors to verify part tolerances and customer requirements.
  • Understand and follow all Quality Food Safety Management System (QFSMS) policies and procedures.
  • Report any problems with the QFSMS to a supervisor or manager.
